The first large scale Direct Steam Generation (DSG) based parabolic trough power plant in Asia will be constructed in the Kanchanaburi Province, a sunny region in the central part of Thailand. This power plant has a nominal capacity of 5 MWel and peak capacity of 9 MWel. The basic engineering has already begun and this plant is expected to go into operation by the end of 2010.
